“Zvoryikinskiy Project” of the Federal Agency on youth affairs supported by Autodesk Company “Mercedes-Benz Rus” CJSC, British Design Higher School, “Scream School” Computer Graphics School, www.designet.ru and www.cardesign.ru portals announced the All-Russian youth contest on innovative ID design
Purpose of the contest – encouragement and stimulation of young designers, constructors, engineers for creating new constructing designs, which would let raise goods economy, broaden their sphere of application and finally increase demand for them.
Participation conditions:
For the contest participation there are invited: graduates (not older than 30) of art and technical institutes of higher education and students studying items projecting, industrial design and construction as a major. Applications are accepted from one sole participant or a group of developers.
From November 5, 2009 to June 14, 2010 contenders should get registered on website http://design.innovaterussia.ru/, wait for authorization and get access to the “personal cabinet”, where you can apply for the contest participation.
Works will be being accepted from December 1, 2009 to July 15, 2010. Participants should register their project, by uploading (through the special form on the contest website) a picture, 3D image or a product draft, having accompanied it with a description. Description includes: participant’s name and last name, contact information (e-mail, phone number), project name, description of a concept or decision in brief. Contenders can present several projects to be judged. For each of them it is necessary to fill in a separate application and accompany a project with detailed information.
The winners of the contest will be appointed by the jury. It will include industrial design experts and business representatives: Umberto Giraudo, a supervising professor of “Industrial Design” department in British Design Higher School; Timur Burbayev, “Artemiy Lebedev Studio” art-manager; Jurgen Zauer, “Mercedes-Benz RUS” CJSC president; Alexander Tasev, CIS based Autodesk company CEO; Dmitry Shirokov, Scream School CEO; Yaroslav Rassadin, Marussia Motors chief designer, Yar Rassadin Bureau founder, and also website visitors
Works assessment will be being carryied out according to several criteria: functionality, elegance and goodliness, possibility of implementation, ecological compatibility, suitability.
On august 1st, 2010 the contest finalists will be appointed – not more than 5 participants of each category: aviation/space, transport, household appliances and tools, robotics, telecommunications, medical equipment, furniture, sports goods and goods for having rest.
The contest final will be being held in the context of DESIGN ACT design festival. There will be presented the exposition of finalists’ works to present them to the jury. On September 4, 2010 the jury will announce the all-round winner and the names of the contest prize-winners.
The all-round winner will get 100000 roubles and also an opportunity to take a gratuitous summer course on “Graphic design and visual communications” in British Design Higher School. Each category winner will get 15000 roubles. Special prize – a laptop with professional licensed Autodesk company software for designers, will be presented to SMS-voting winner in nomination of “Audience Choice Award”. All the contest participants will get an opportunity to attend master classes, organized by British Design Higher School, Scream School computer graphics school, Autodesk company and Apple company, and also to take the educational program in the context of All-Russian educational forum “Seliger-2010”. And the contest finalists will be able to take a gratuitous summer course at Scream School.
